Traditional approaches to life coaching often involve 1-on-1 sessions where you sit and meet with your coach to discuss your goals and your current challenges. As you talk about your struggles to accomplish your specific goals, a life coach will often identify any unhelpful thought patterns or beliefs that are negatively impacting your ability to achieve that goal.
For example, if you want to lose weight but you often think or say to yourself, “I tried to lose weight before and failed… I’m just going to fail again,” then your coach would work together with you to help you reframe these unhelpful thoughts to more empowering thoughts that can help you take action.

In Somatic Life Coaching, we don’t skip mindset work… We just don’t start there. We start with your body.
Most of the time, you’re not stuck because you’re lazy or unmotivated. You’re stuck because your body doesn’t feel safe enough yet. Anytime you want to change a routine, your nervous system’s job is to maintain homeostasis and keep you stuck doing what’s familiar.
That is exactly why when you set a weight loss goal or vow to start a new meditation practice, you feel tired, anxious, unsure, or overwhelmed… so you tell yourself, “I’ll start again tomorrow.” And the cycle keeps repeating.
The Coaching Difference
Instead of forcing your way through those feelings, our focus is to help you slow down and get curious about them. Your body is always talking to you through through the language of sensations like tightness, heaviness, fatigue, or feeling a knot in your stomach. These sensations are not “bad.” They’re signals letting you know what you need emotionally, physically, and mentally.
With Somatic Life Coaching, not only will you understand the signals your body is communicating to you, but you’ll learn how to not let feelings of doubt, fear, anxiety, or shame get in the way of being where you want to be. You will learn research backed nervous system regulation tools (rooted in ancient wisdom and Traditional Chinese Medicine) to help you overcome any emotional or mental blocks that get in the way of you and your goals.
